Beige Book indicates slight increase in employment in the United States

Employment increased overall at a slight pace in the United States, with nine districts reporting very slow or modest increases, and the remaining three reporting no change in employment, according to the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) Beige Book.

According to the publication, released this Wednesday, 17th, most districts noticed increases in the supply of labor and the quality of job candidates.

Despite improvements in labor supply, many districts have described a persistent shortage of qualified candidates for certain positions, including machinists, retail workers and hospitality workers.
